Privacy policy
Last updated: October 12, 2026
Bouncink is a game to play without a care. This page explains, with no small print, what data the Android app and this website use, and why.
In short
No accounts, no sign-up. The game never asks for your name, email or any other personal data.
Your progress is yours. Record, ink, characters and items are stored on your device only.
Anonymous statistics. To tune the difficulty, the game sends what happens in your runs, never who you are. You can switch them off in Options → Anonymous stats.
No ads, no tracking. There is no advertising, no profiling, and no data is ever sold.
1Who is responsible
Bouncink is an independent game made by Pedro L. in Spain, who is the controller of the data described here. For any privacy question or request, write to pedro.lopz.jmnz+bouncink@gmail.com.
2What stays on your device
Your progress (record, ink, characters, items, achievements and settings) is kept in the game's storage on your own device, and no server keeps a copy: the only thing that leaves the device is the anonymous statistics in section 3. It may travel in the backup your system makes (Android's, for instance), which your system account manages, not this game.
Erase it whenever you like with Options → Reset data, or by uninstalling the game.
3Anonymous gameplay statistics
When each run ends, the game sends a technical record of what happened in it. It is used to understand how the game is played and to tune the difficulty, the bosses and the items: where players get stuck, which boss feels unfair, which item nobody uses.
What is sent
- The game version, the kind of run (normal, challenge or tutorial) and its seed.
- The character and items you carried, the control mode (tilt or touch) and your record so far.
- What happened and when: hits taken (their cause, how the ball was moving and how much warning there was), enemies defeated, items picked up and used, bosses, level-ups and tutorial steps.
- A snapshot of the run every second: health, level, enemies and dots on screen, the boss's health and the ball's position and speed on the sheet.
- How you control the ball, summed up per second: how much you steer, and how long and how often you press Thrust. Individual movements are not recorded.
- How it ended: duration, level reached, ink earned and the date and time of the run.
- A random install id: a code the game makes up when it is installed. It has nothing to do with your identity, your account, the advertising id or your device's serial number; it only tells which runs come from the same install.
Never collected
- Name
- Accounts
- Location
- Contacts
- Photos or files
- Microphone or camera
- Advertising id
The game's server does not store your IP address. The provider that hosts it may log it technically and temporarily in its access logs, like any website.
How to switch them off
In Options → Anonymous stats. Once off, the game stops recording, deletes whatever was waiting to be sent and forgets its install id.
Legal basis
The legitimate interest in improving the game (Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation). You can object at any time by switching the statistics off.
Where they are kept, and for how long
They travel encrypted (HTTPS) to a server hosted on Vercel and are stored in a MongoDB Atlas database. These providers may process them outside the European Economic Area under the safeguards the GDPR requires. They are kept for 24 months at most and then deleted. On your device, each pending run is deleted as soon as it is sent (at most the last 30 are kept).
4App permissions
- Internet, to send the anonymous statistics.
- Vibration, to feel the hits (it can be switched off in Options).
- Motion sensor, to play by tilting the phone. It needs no permission and its readings only steer the ball: they never leave the device.
The app never asks for location, camera, microphone, contacts or access to your files.
5Ads and third parties
This version of the app shows no ads and includes no third-party advertising or tracking tools. If they are ever added, this policy will be updated before they arrive, and the game will explain it in Options → Legal.
6Children
Bouncink is suitable for everyone. It does not ask for or collect personal data from anyone, children included.
7Your rights
The statistics do not identify you, so it is usually impossible to tell which ones are yours. Even so, you can:
- switch them off and delete what is pending at any time;
- erase everything stored on your device with Reset data;
- write to pedro.lopz.jmnz+bouncink@gmail.com to exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection or restriction, or with any question.
If you believe your data is mishandled, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es) or to the authority of your country.
8Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this same page with its date. If what is collected changes, the game will also say so in Options → Legal.
9This website
The Bouncink website uses Vercel Web Analytics to measure visits and understand which pages are viewed. It collects aggregate statistics such as the page visited, referring site, approximate location, browser and device type, without analytics cookies or tracking you across websites. More information is available in Vercel’s analytics privacy documentation.
Your manual language choice is saved in your browser so it is remembered on future visits. The game’s anonymous statistics setting controls gameplay statistics, independently of these website visit statistics.
